I really enjoy watching complete his sculptures aswell as seeing the pictures he takes of his work. I really enjoy the fact that he is an environmentalist and that he uses this as a common theme within his work. I also enjoyed seeing the fact that not all of his sculptures completely worked and lasted long enough to be completely finished.

Abstract
My favorite picture that I took for this assignment was the one of the lays. The lays were originally
light pink and orange. I edited it using Color Balance. I am really pleased with how this picture turned out, it became a very intriging composition. By changing the color balance of the picture, it excentuated the idea of depth within the picture.

Macro Pictures

I think that the most successful picture that I took for this macro assignment was the picture of the branch with the snow on it. I is a great example of a typical macro picture because it had a clear, focused forground and a blurred background. In photoshop, I adjusted the histogram and I changed the composition to black and white. I really like the fact that the theme of the picture is contious in the forground and background. In the forground the rose bush branch is clear and in the background the tree branch is blurred. I also like the fact that the individual snow particles are visiable.

4 Pictures Due December 11
I emulated Jan Groover's photographic style. In photoshop I adjusted the histogram under the levels menu. I also cropped the pictures down and made it so they followed the rule of thirds. My pictures are simular to Jan Groover's pictures because I used kitchen untencils, as did she. I also played up reflection within the metal tools. My pictures are different than hers because I did not used plants wihtin my pictures. My pitures are simular to Jan's but not exactly the same. Is there anything distracting within either of my pictures?
I also emulated Ansel Adams photographic style. I edited these pitures in photoshop. I adjusted the histogram under the levels menu aswell as cropped the pictures down so they followed the rule of thirds. My two pictures are simular to Ansel Adam's pictures because my main subject is the beautiy of nature. Ansel also enjoyed taking pictues of snow covered things in nature. Which one of my pictures do you like better?

Photo Montage 2
The theme of this picture is "Under the Sea". I created unity by using things that are all found in the ocean. I tried to create a perception of depth by placing the animals toward the bottom, middle, and top. I was able to cut the turtle and two fish out of their original opictures by utilizing the magnetic lasso tool. I also added a blue layer over the top of the picture and I changed the opacity of the blue layer so that the scene was still visable but had a very slight blue tint. Do you like the affect it created over my picture? Which one of my montages do you like better? Why?
Photo Montage 1
For this photo montage, I chose outer space as my theme; this created overall unity within the picture. The international space station is in the forground along with an astronaut. In the background (upper right corner) there is a spaceship that looks like it is heading for the international space station. I accomplished this by angling the spaceship. I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out the international space station, the astronaut, and the spaceship. The colors that are included in my background are very vibrant and bright, and they complement the neutral colors of the other objects. What do you think I could have done better in this montage? Which one of my montages do you like better? Why?

Getting to Know My Camera
Name: Fujifilm FinPix Z20Fd digital camera
Megapixels: 10.0
10 Things I Learnned:
1 - battery capacity decreases at low temperatures, and functions better at warm temperatures
2 - it has a silent mode
3 - prime picture taking temperature 32 - 104 degrees F
4 - face detection is available when shooting pictures
5 - pressing the shutter button down halfway sets focus and exposure
6 - user license agreement is governed by Japan not U.S.
7 - Macro Mode: focuses on subjects in the middle of the screen
8 - timer delayed shooting mode is available
9 - the higher quality picture the less pictures you can take on any given memory card
10 - framing grid is an option when taking pictures, helping photographers with the rule of thirds
3 Questions:
1 - Do I have a sports shooting mode?
2 - Do I have a burst shooting option?
3 - Where do I find/switch shooting modes on my camera?
